Every Year U. S. News and World Reports issues a list of the best hospitals in the U. S. These hospitals are ranked by specialty and so it is easy for someone with a particular disorder to find a hospital with excellent credentials for treating that disease. Since systemic lupus is treated by rheumatologists, those hospitals which are rated highly in this specialty probably offer the best option for up-to-date and skilled treatment.

The top hospitals in rheumatology, according the U.S. News and World Reports, are (listed in order of rank, from 1 to 10):
